ENFIELD OVERVIEW

Enfield Town is an exciting and vibrant place to live and work. The franchise territory covers EN1-EN3, EN7-EN8 inclusive and has a population of approximately 200,000. The Borough of Enfield has witnessed considerable social, economic and environmental change in the last ten years. This is mostly due to regeneration projects that have taken place and are still ongoing in several areas of the Borough. Consequently, the number of active enterprises in Enfield has increased by 13% in last ten year and the amount of employment floor space has grown strongly in Enfield in recent years. There are about 121,000 people who are working age and are potential clients from a total population of around 200,000 in the area that will be covered by the Pitman centre. The level of competition is not strong. There are only few training providers offering the level and quality of training and qualifications that a Pitman Enfield is offering. Within the London North area there are around 12% of the working age population who are unemployed and looking for employment. The centre also facilitates the needs of such individuals through the Pitman courses.

The Lea Valley within Enfield contains several significant industrial and commercial areas, including the Brimsdown Business Area. A number of businesses are located in the area, covering a variety of industries including food production and catering, retail, warehousing and logistics, manufacturing and recycling. As a business destination, Enfield offers low cost industrial space and excellent locational benefits with road links into the city, to the M25 and to the main northern trunk routes, the M1 and A1 (M). There are four international airports and King’s Cross St Pancras all within one hour’s journey and new transport projects will make travel even more efficient.

There is sustained investment in the development of Enfield Town and the surrounding commercial areas and thus Enfield is maintaining its identity as a modern, active and exciting place to do business in. There is great potential for provisioning of training services in Enfield and surrounding areas and the market for both private and corporate clients is potentially very large.

AREA OPPORTUNITIES

The Training Centre is located on London Road in the heart of Enfield Town, surrounded by the retail, commercial and business district. It is within two minutes walking distance from the Shopping Centres, Enfield Town railway station and 10 mins walk from Enfield-Chase railway station.

Good transport links and the ample car parking facilities around the centre make it easily accessible for all our students. Pitman Training Enfield also benefits from 2 dedicated parking slots within the Centre car park itself at the rear of the building.

The Enfield centre was established 3 years ago and benefits from a very spacious 1200 sq. ft of office space accommodating the training area, office and reception area, with plenty of space to introduce further computer stations in the future. It also displays all the latest branding material and has been tastefully appointed.

At present there are 15 workstations with PCs. In addition, there are 3 staff workstations. All training material is delivered digitally from the Server to avoid the need for any additional media cluttering the workspace.

The Client base is split 85:15 between the private sector and the corporate sector and the business is currently benefitting from approximately 60 course enquiries a month.
